Our Role
When you are making use of this website and when we collect your data in order to directly provide our services we act as the “data controller” of personal data. Please note that we may process personal information while providing services to our clients (for example other funeral services, insurance companies etc). In this case they will be providing such data to us or we will be collecting and processing them under their instructions and only in our capacity as contractors for our clients. In such case we act as “processors” of personal data and this policy does not apply. When we process your data in such capacity, we urge you to contact our clients in order to inquire about their privacy policies.
Types of Data We Collect
- Contact and inquiry details
Your first name, last name, business or home address, country, postal code, email and phone number. These data are essential in order for us to be able to address your business inquiry or provide our services.
- 2. Relationship with a deceased person
When we are providing our services, especially when you have contacted us we may need to inquire and collect info regarding your relationship with a deceased person (friends, family acquaintance).
Please note that according to Greek and EU Data Protection Law, data of a deceased person are not considered personal. Yet, we take all measures to keep those data discrete and do not use them for any other purpose other than the purposes they were supplied us.
- Data relevant to your identity online and your location
When making use of our website IP address (in anomymized form), browser type and version, browser plug-in types, time zone setting, geolocation information about where you might be and your operating system type and version.
- Data relevant to your use of our website
Your URL clickstreams (the path you take through our site), locations and/or services viewed, page response times, cookie preferences, download errors, how long you stay on our pages, what you do on those pages, how often, and other actions.
- Business details
Your VAT number (when applicable) , legal seat, capacity as contact person for a business, role in business
- DNA- Genetic Data
We may collect DNA in order to provide our DNA Bank services. In such case we shall process it in no other manner other than // only in order to safely store it and keep it available to you.
Special categories of data and children’s data
We don’t collect any data about you revealing racial or ethnic origin, political opinions, religious or philosophical beliefs, or trade-union membership, genetic data, biometric data for the purpose of uniquely identifying a natural person, data concerning health or data concerning sex life or sexual orientation, except when we have your explicit consent, or when we have to comply with the law. We offer services directed to and intended for use only by those who are 18 years of age or over. We do not target our services at children, and we do not knowingly collect any personal data from any person under 16 years of age.

- Improving our services (legal basis: consent and legitimate interest) after analysing the use of our website and the manner by which we provided our service to you.
- Contact you in case we have received information of the passing of a person we understand to be close to you (ex relative).
- When necessary (example when you are the next of kin of a deceased person) pass on your contact information to public authorities (ex police, coroner’s office, hospitals) in order for them to perform their legal services.
- Exercise or defend legal claims we may have against you or third parties.

We value your privacy and applicable EU and Greek legislation and we thus urge to store your personal data with safety. We have physical and electronic procedures (technical and organisational measures) to secure and protect the information we collect and process.

You can exercise all the aforementioned rights (with the exception of 7.) by emailing us at info@grammenosinternational.com We shall address your request within 30 days of its receival, unless it is too complicated or we are dealing simultaneously with too many such requests. In the latter case it may take us up to two additional months to address your request, but we will let you know so within 30 days of reception of your initial request.
Location of Processing and Storage of Data
The personal data we collect is processed at our offices in Attica and Corfu and on web servers located in the EU, Greece and in any data processing facilities operated by the third parties identified below.
If your information is transferred or stored outside of the EU or the EEA in this way, we will take steps to ensure that your privacy rights continue to be protected as outlined in this Privacy Policy.
Any personal data stored by us will be deleted within 5 years of its collection. We may however keep your personal data longer in order to exercise or defend a legal claim or in case we are obliged by a legal provision to do so. With regard to the email addresses kept for promotional purposes we may keep them for longer periods but you can unsubscribe anytime, in which case we will continue to hold such information only for the purpose of not sending you undesired communications.
